A Texas State University student was shot and murdered while sleeping through a wall; the gunman was caught and sentenced to 90 days in prison. A family is asking a Hays County court to reconsider the man's sentence in the death of their son. Austin Salyer attended Texas State University as a junior. At 8:53 p.m., His mother had told him he had to get up at 4:30 a.m. the following morning for his first road march with his new battalion. Bonnie checked Austin's whereabouts at 6:00 a.m. When she saw that his phone was still inside his apartment, she thought he overslept.
